Overview.
Nippon Zen required a restaurant identity that respected Japanese cultural influences while presenting the business as a contemporary dining destination. The direction needed to feel authentic, refined and adaptable across physical and digital applications.
Design Thinking.
The creative direction drew from Zen philosophy and recognisable Japanese forms, including the Torii gate and Enso circle. These references were simplified and combined with restrained typography to create a modern visual language without relying on decorative stereotypes.
Final Outcome.
The final identity balances cultural character with contemporary simplicity. It gives Nippon Zen a consistent and flexible visual system that can extend across signage, menus, printed materials, digital communication and the wider restaurant environment.
